73rd Anniversary of D-Day
Today, June 6th, marks the 73rd anniversary of the Normandy landings during World War Two, a very important landing operation part of the Allied invasion of Normandy, also being the largest seaborne invasion in history. This operation began the liberation of northwestern Europe which was currently under Nazi control. This ultimately contributed hugely to the Allied victory on the Western front. Today we remember the efforts of those involved in protecting our democracy and freedom, and the real-life 29th Infantry Division who were involved in the landing on Omaha Beach.
