Corporal Duy N. Nguyen

Cpl. Nguyen during the opening phase of the attack, skillfully landed a couple of great kills to the defenders on the North wall. He then proceeded to lead the bulk of his squad up to the north wall where he coordinated our attacking members as though he was a seasoned veteran. He ran back and forth lobbing grenades into the objective and putting out smoke grenades to cover the squads movements, gaining an additional kill in the process. As we took casualties he became more aggressive and moved into the objective. Pressing the attack, he moved into the objective cautiously killing several members of the enemy team. After scoring at this point six KIA's he moved to cover the spider whole tunnel entrance following the plan to the letter, while the rest of his squad secured the above ground section of the objective. His role in the attack was a sight to behold and an incredible overall performance. He no doubt played a major role in our teams victory. For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against DP2's enemies during the scrim, he is being awarded the Silver Star, Furthermore Cpl. Nguyen took alot of time making maps and laying down strategic places along the attack route and defensive points around the fort, posting in the scrim thread many visual aids during the planing phase of the scrim prepreation and is therefore also being awarded his Soldier's Medal. In addition for participating in his first official scrimmage, he is therefore eligible to receive his first Combat Infantry Badge.
