Promotion and Award (Mark R. Furie)

SSgt. Dethfield said:

PFC Furie has been involved in alot of firsts since joining the 29th. He was a recruit in the first EST training platoon for Easy Company, he was part the first training platoon I personally taught as a DI, the first casualty of our barbed-wire laden obstacle course, the first SLT candidate I have personal been involved in to be the subject of an SLT scrim and now he will be the first of those recruits to complete SLT and become an NCO of the 29th. None of us ever could have known, however, how solid of a leader PFC Furie would become. He has never had any issue learning new things, taking criticism, picking himself back up after a crushing defeat or embarrassing mistake and always learns from what has happened. All of this has paid off and he is now fit to join the ranks of 29th leadership so I am pleased to award him his Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon and a promotion to the rank of Corporal! Well done Corporal Furie!
