During EP2’s scrim on the 17th of July 2021 against the RWR T/5 Logan was assigned as one of our 3 Heavy Anti-Tanks. EP2 and all of the members of the scrim knew how important the vehicles used in the scrim were. On the defense T/5 Logan along with the rest of EP2S2 was tasked with holding the quarry to the South of the objective. Early in the defense round EP2 lost our MATV giving the attackers the advantage with the vehicles. The enemy BTR was spotted to be traveling along the Southern road and as soon as T/5 Logan heard this he began to start maneuvering towards the South-West to gain sightlines on the BTR. T/5 Logan came back on communications shortly after stating that he has sightlines on the BTR and will attempt to take it out but that his position was crawling with enemy infantry as well. Knowing full-well that firing his rocket would cause the enemy infantry to swarm his position T/5 Logan stood up and took out the enemy BTR with his rocket. And much like T/5 Logan warned us, he was quickly taken out by the infantry around him after he fired the rocket. T/5 Logan’s take-out of the BTR marked the turning point for EP2 on the defense. The enemies attacking force was quickly taken out after without much trouble, marking a win for EP2.

During EP2’s scrim on the 17th of July 2021 against the RWR PFC Helfer was commanding the BTR-82A on EP2s attack round. The BTR was tasked with supporting the infantry elements as they made their approach to the objective. PFC Helfer from the start maintained clear and consistent communications with the team lead and the infantry units around him making sure that everyone knew exactly what the BTR was focusing on and providing crucial info to the squads as they made their attacks. Early in the round the enemy Stryker pushed and attempted to catch our BTR off guard. Swift orders from PFC Helfer saw the BTR engage the Stryker quickly and disposed of the threat before they took too much damage. With the enemy Stryker out of the way PFC Helfer ordered the BTR to support the infantry and to start clearing out suspected enemy locations. While the BTR moved up the main road it continued to support the infantry and with PFC Helfer’s guidance it cleared quite a few tough spots that enemy were located in. Towards the end of the round the BTR maneuvered around the objective compound and utilized a spot previously known to shoot through some gas containers and took out the majority of the objective ammo crates, leaving only a couple that infantry had to go in and take down. Over the course of the round the BTR had eliminated the biggest threat to the attacking force - the Stryker - and had managed to collect 10 kills and had taken out the majority of the objective.

Attack Round:

EP2 started out the attack by maneuvering around the Eastern edge of the map to a drop-off point in the Southeast. The squads and the vehicles moved up to a preliminary staging point. From here EP2S3 and HQ elements made the first push moving into the green space to the East of the Quarry. It was here that the first enemy combatants was seen in the Quarry buildings. The BTR then moved up to suppress the Quarry buildings and EP2S1 and EP2S2 made their initial push across the Southern road towards the Quarry. Quick reports stated that the enemy MATV was pushing down the Eastern edge of the zone, fortunately right into our waiting combat engineers. In the moments following, our TIGR was taken out by enemy combatants; and the enemy Stryker made a surprise rush to push up behind our BTR. Our BTR and combat engineers worked together to quickly eliminate the Stryker. With the enemy vehicles taken out our forces were able to start pushing North with support of the BTR. Pushing into the objective compound our forces encountered a sharpshooter who managed to take out several important figures to our attack. A combined attack with the infantry co-ordinated with the BTR attacking the objective from the North managed to flush out the final defenders and with their deaths EP2 claimed victory in their attack round.

Defense Round:

EP2 started the defense round with each squad taking up key spots. EP2S1 was tasked with defending the Western and Northern approaches, EP2S2 was defending the Southern in the Quarry, and EP2S3 was tasked with the Eastern Village while HQ secured the Objective compound. Early reports spotted enemy infantry in the North East. But soon we had conflicting reports of Infantry in the West and soon after Infantry in the South. All three squads were fighting sporadic attacks from the enemy when finally the BTR was spotted in the Southwest. Our MATV engaged the BTR but was quickly taken out. As the BTR moved South of the quarry a hidden combat engineer was able to get a shot off and managed to take it out. The enemy forces joined together for a final push in the North but with the majority of the defense still up the attackers were quickly overwhelmed and EP2 was left standing victorious with 25 people still up.
