SSgt. Halls has participated in his third official scrimmage and is therefore eligible for his Combat Infantry Badge, 2nd Award. For winning both the attack and defense round during an official scrimmage he will receive the World War II Victory Medal.
“As the Platoon mounted up to attack the Outpost objective, SSgt. Halls selflessly stayed behind with PFC Wells to counter enemy maneuvers. Working west down the ridgeline, SSgt. Halls identified and neutralized an enemy MG team shooting down at CP1, specifically pinning down 1Lt. Nelson behind a humvee’s engine block. He then continued to patrol through the heights, providing vital intelligence and delaying the enemy from countering our movements. These actions protected the bulk of our team from imminent death, significantly delayed the enemy, and neutralized two enemies from a commanding position, thus allowing CP1 to maneuver more freely on the battlefield. SSgt. Halls was pronounced KIA when he fell radio-silent just short of the Lumber Mill objective.” For these actions SSgt. Halls will receive the Bronze Star.
Sgt. Dott has participated in his third official scrimmage and is therefore eligible for his Combat Infantry Badge, 2nd Award. For winning both the attack and defense round during an official scrimmage he will receive the World War II Victory Medal.
Sgt. Vos has participated in his second official scrimmage. For winning both the attack and defense round during an official scrimmage he will receive the World War II Victory Medal.
“For securing the Outpost objective twice, defending outpost against counter-attack AND directing SSgt. Halls to neutralize the enemy MG team using a combination of tracers and radio-calls. Sgt. Vos took initiative and showed what a 29th member can do under pressure. He had his head in the game the whole battle, and was a vital asset to our victory. In our final counter-attack at the Outpost, Sgt. Vos killed one enemy at our dismount position, and got another as they counter-attacked. Sgt. Vos stayed alive till the end, ensuring our strategic momentum was held.” For these actions Sgt. Vos will receive the Bronze Star.
Cpl. Nielsen has participated in his third official scrimmage and is therefore eligible for his Combat Infantry Badge, 2nd Award. For winning both the attack and defense round during an official scrimmage he will receive the World War II Victory Medal.
“For leading the assault on and securing TRP 2; securing the Outpost objective; securing the Villa objective and returning to defend the outpost at the end on his own. Amidst all these feats, Cpl. Nielsen did a stellar job keeping tabs on the men under his command, and truly aimed to keep them alive throughout the fight. This gave CP1 some late-game manpower, with 4/6 men in his squad still being alive till the end - himself included. His squad leadership left a presence at both the Villa and Outpost objetives until the end, ensuring our victory. His personal skills contributed greatly as well, particularly when he was called to move alone to defend against the final enemy counter-attack on the Outpost. Needless to say, Cpl. Nielsen was vital to our success.” For these actions Cpl. Nielsen will receive the Army Commendation Medal.

“S3 was hit hard by all-3 elements of the 2MRB on the hill south of the Radio Station. They conducted a fighting-retreat back to the objective, but were whittled down to just PFC Hudson and PFC Chuplis. While on their final approach to our lines, HQ had them re-direct and move westward to get an elevated position covering back towards our west perimeter. Just as we hoped, an enemy squad moved north up the draw along the road to the west, in an attempt to breach the west perimeter gate. PFC Hudson, with the spotting of PFC Chuplis, managed to kill a 6-man squad, plus another soldier from the enemy’s center caught descending from the southern hill they had just evacuated. His marksmanship and focus completely halted the enemy assault from the west, leaving only a handful of men from their other two-squads to accomplish their mission.”
For these actions, PFC Hudson will receive the Silver Star.

“While CP1 was pinned at TRP 2, PFC Wells suggested that we mount our humvees and attack the Outpost objective. He then selflessly stayed behind, projecting force from our position as we extracted. From there, PFC Wells managed to weave forward through the battlefield, providing vital intelligence and achieving multiple kills on his way, only to then secure the Lumber Mill objective. The capture triggered the remaining Opfor soldiers in the heights to descend upon him, leading to his ultimate demise. The actions of PFC Wells significantly harmed, hindered and delayed the enemy from countering our movements southward as we secured the other two objectives, and forced them into a disadvantageous position for the final stage of the fight.” For these actions PFC Wells will receive the Purple Heart.
