Two Years and Six Months of Service (Ciro A. Maestas)

Cpl. Maestas is one of those members that makes the 29th go around. Not only winning the first ever BBOTs with then-Sgt. Mellinger, but he works his magic behind the scenes. Not only being a Drill Instructor - one of the most time consuming jobs here in the 29th - he is also a major part of our Quartmaster’s success. Cpl. Maestas quite literally lives and breathes 29th. It surprises me that he’s been here for only two and a half years, as he’s done so much in that time! Congratulations Cpl. Maestas on your 5th AoCC!

True story.

Maestas was my liaison as a recruit, and one of the NCOs in my first squad in the 29th. When I think of the 29th, Cpl. Maestas is foundational.
