PFC Younger is one of two absolutely fantastic grenadiers FP2S2 is lucky to have, but that’s not why I’m writing him up for the GCM. FP2S2 has excellent camaraderie, and one huge reason for that is PFC Younger. He shows up every single week with a fantastic attitude, providing support and advice to every single member of the squad (including myself.) These are things he’s done consistently throughout his career in the 29th. However, recently he’s taken his positivity and dedication to the squad to the next level. Being a squad with a later drill, we often have fewer guests than we’d like. This necessitates creative manipulation of the numbers that do show up, often including myself. PFC Younger steps up every single time to lead the squad. He engages this task with his characteristic optimism and a dogged determination to get back into the fight. For consistently showing up to improve the squad in every way expected of him, for always putting in the extra effort to make the squad a better place for every member and guest, and for stepping up and leading with literally zero complaints at every opportunity, I can see no reason not to award him the Good Conduct Medal, except perhaps that he should have gotten it much sooner.
