Sgt. Hanley is approaching his 10th AOCC, quite the venerable figure within DP3. I had the pleasure of meeting Sgt. Hanley back when I enlisted into Dog Company for the second time as a fellow squad member of DP3S2. Comradery was quickly established within the squad, and I was fortunate to have several of my squad members in my SLT class; one of whom was Sgt. Hanley. Not too long after graduation, he was able to quickly show his skillset as a leader when he was thrusted into the role of an SL of DP3S3. Notably, he lead the squad for a sizable about of time solo without the aid of an ASL. There are but a few figures who I’d credit with having an ultimate impact on their squads; Sgt.
