Way back when PFC Forest went by the name of R. Smith, I had noticed something in the yet untested PFC. A clear sense of leadership and a hunger for something more than being just another member of the squad. Unfortunately, his time with the 29th was cut short but, he did vow to return someday. Several months later I was made aware of a reenlistment for a PFC Forest. Despite the name change, it was obvious that what hadn’t changed was his hunger for leadership and one of the first things he wanted to know was when he could jump back into SLT. Now PFC Forest has completed all the necessary steps to complete SLT and he is no longer befitting the rank of PFC, he is now Corporal Forest.
