2Lt. Barclay and I go back a long time. So far in fact, that I’m surprised our total combined years of service hasn’t topped 14 years yet. I’m proud to say that I’ve been with the 2Lt. since he was PFC in AP1S4. I had a hand in coaching him through SLT and I hand-picked him for OCS. He has since lead 3 European Platoons and offered untold hours in his variety of staff positions. His dexterity in service has proven himself more than capable of wielding the power of being a Commanding Officer of his own Company. So, seeing that there is a vacancy in Easy Company, myself, Sgt. Maj., and Regimental HQ see it fit that he be moved up to Company HQ and be promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant. Congratulations 1Lt. Barclay!
