1Lt. Nelson said:
Effortlessly chill, yet intimidatingly principled - SSgt. Vos has proven to be an invaluable asset to Charlie Company. His unwavering dedication to the unit’s standards and his sheer effort in extolling them has helped us adhere our values as we operate, reminding us all that we are part of something greater than ourselves.
Since entering Platoon HQ, SSgt. Vos has become a force of nature within Charlie - If you act up, misquote SOP or frankly do anything unsavory, he will appear with righteous indignation to set the record straight. The man takes it personal when people slip, if only because he expects those around him to have the same level of commitment to “the institution” of the 29th. He is always there to cut through the malarkey, keeping everyone focused and disciplined during drills. With the absence of a Company Sergeant, SSgt. Vos has also taken it upon himself to extended his watchful eye to the color personalities of CP2, greatly aiding the First Lieutenant in facilitating Company Drills.
His consistency, confidence in his role and drive to succeed are truly inspiring to those above and below his station, and while he may not always hit the mark, he embodies the mantras of a leader always having a plan, never freezing and always lookng for a way ever-forward.
For all this and much more, we are proud to promote SSgt. Vos to the rank of Technical Sergeant. Congratulations, and thank you for your many years of service.
