Promotion (Jacob M. Murray)

2Lt. Dawdy said:

Cpl. J. Murray has been a uniquely diligent member of leadership within DP3. There isn’t a challenge nor opportunity that would give him cold feet. Cpl. J. Murray has continued to contribute to the unit, both off and on the battlefield through his roles and initiatives within staff offices and leadership. I would be hard pressed to find anyone as self motivated, if not more, than Cpl. J. Murray. I thought no one else was more capable taking over my alma mater squad DP3S4 “Harambe’s Own”, despite my sentimental attachments.

Through his tenure as the squad leader of DP3S4, he has proven himself to be a capable squad leader. Both able to cultivate and motivate members of his squad to accomplish greater heights, all the while having an assistant squad leader be under his tutelage. Not to mention, leading by example with his pristine attendance record in which Cpl. J. Murray has not missed a single drill since he originally enlisted into the unit.

With all of these reasons combined, Platoon HQ and Company HQ feel that his two chevrons are no longer appropriate given the contributions and station he has placed himself within the unit. Therefore, it is only appropriate that his self evident nature be rewarded with the rank of Sergeant. Congratulations Sgt. J. Murray, and I hope to see you continue to lead by example; ever forward!
