All of us can be guilty of taking our foot off of the gas from time to time, during our time here in the 29th, especially when riding a tidal wave of success and accolades, for some this can breed complacency and require course correction.
None of this true in the case of Sgt. Meerts, he simply hasn’t missed a beat since stepping into the role of the Platoon Sergeant for DP1, he has maintained and even upped his commitment to the Platoon and Company, whether this be through guesting, organizing clinics, and just generally being ever present around the company in a positive way, whilst growing rapidly into the role of our trustworthy and well respected Platoon Sergeant.
It’s been a pleasure to show him the ropes of Platoon HQ, but time and time again he has proved his capability to deal with Platoon business without requiring strong oversight or direction, he is bastion of the standards we wish to promote within the Platoon and wider unit.
Therefore it’s my pleasure to see Meerts promoted to rank of SSgt. forthwith, congratulations!
