If there was one person who I believe had the biggest impact in shaping DP2S1 into what it is today, it would be Sgt. J. Lee. Before he joined as an Assistant Squad Leader, the squad was struggling in gameplay, attendance, and attitude. But once he joined, Sgt. J. Lee immediately began helping each and every member improve their skills while also participating outside of drills with his men. Eventually, the squad had a vibrant and competitive culture that continues to this day thanks to what Sgt. J. Lee started. One of the best examples of this culture is how squad members constantly will play games outside of drills with Sgt. J. Lee and a variety of other 29thers. And once he became the Squad Leader, Sgt. J. Lee continued to uphold his methods of teaching squadmates how to improve, guesting, and a variety of other practices which benefited the squad. Also, Sgt. J. Lee participates in a variety of positions such as Civil Affairs, Lighthouse, and Quartermaster, where he undoubtedly applies as much effort to these positions as he does to everything else. Overall, Sgt. J. Lee is one of the most important members of DP2S1, someone I’m glad to call my friend, and an essential part of the 29th experience for many people. So, congrats on your three years Sgt. J. Lee, and we all hope to see you continue to exceed into the future!
