Three years. THREE YEARS. That’s old by most standards and you have certainly accepted and have begun to fill the role of “Old Dog” in that time. I met Cpl. Buckeye when he was just starting out and I was still trying to understand what an ideal 29th soldier should embody. You have shown me from day one what it means to be polite, courteous, and most of all, cool. You are a calm presence under fire which helped this lost Pvt. and as time has gone on, you have inspired countless others. Congratulations on three years with the 29th and I’ll be damned if I don’t see another three out of you; hell, I’ll probably be right there, at your side.
