During restructuring process of the Finance Office a lot of work had to be done, all focus was put on to the day to day running of the office, with many of the non urgent taskings falling by the wayside, but once the ship was settled, and with these tasks needing to be taken care of, Finance HQ arrived to the conclusion that we needed a third set of hands at the helm.
After joining the Finance Corps in the middle of 2022 Cpl. Hapers wasted no time learning everything he could about aforementioned Corps. Everything from how donations arrive, how they are processed and how the office integrates into wider 29th ID in order to help with its functions. After learning most of subtleties of the office, Cpl. Hapers was eager to dedicate himself more if such opportunity appears. While being a freshly baked Finance Clerk himself he did not hesitate to step in and train other newly assigned clerks. Soon enough the whole group of Finance Clerks (even to this day) was trained and supervised by him. Next to his supervision of clerks, Cpl. Hapers would work on double checking how everyone else handle their work. He would never hesitate to assist other staff workers if some tasks were incomplete or mistakes made. Needles to say his attitude and commitment towards this office landed him in a Finance Secretary spot.
Cpl. Hapers wasted no time settling into his new role in which he wouldn’t stop looking for new ways on how to improve almost every aspect of Finance Office. From top to bottom. With the energy that he puts out, the commitment that he does not mind showing off, responsibilities that are drilled deeply into his personality and overall positive attitude towards everyone around him it is only fitting to award him with Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
Cpl. Hapers is one of the key ingredients in why Finance Corps now works like a well-oiled machine. His numerous successful completion of one off and larger projects have been instrumental in ensuring the long term financial stability and success of the 29th, he alone has created full visibility for Finance HQ and 29th Leadership. We hope he continues being a hard working staff member like he was for the last 18 months or so. So far it doesn’t look like he has any plans to stop.
