Badge (Harrison D. Riley)

The combat action badge is awarded to a member of the 29th for successfully recruiting a certain number of individuals into our unit. Now, you might be wondering to yourself, for an award called a “combat action” badge, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of “combat” or much “action” involved here. Well, rest assured that while the recruiting process doesn’t involve much shooting, convincing people to enlist (or reenlist) into a unit like ours is very much a battle. If you look closely at PFC Riley, you’ll see a classic “1000 yard stare.” This is, of course, the result of exchanging hundreds of “bullets” (messages) back-and-forth with the “enemy” (recruits). So let us thank PFC Riley for fighting the good fight, and congratulate him on his Combat Action Badge, 1st Award! Whoo!
