Since PFC Lopez joined S3, he’s always shown great enthusiasm for the machine gun, taking the M60 at any chance he gets. As the squad’s designated machine gunner, I find him and his M60 as a dependable platform for suppressing fire. Frequently covering the flanks and suppressing the enemy, PFC Lopez does exactly what a machine gunner does, to the letter. Combined with the fact he’s had leadership experience, the two combine to form a machine that understands the role of the MG and what the leader of the team wants from it, which is an excellent combination. With that said, PFC Lopez is very deserving of this marksman badge due to his excellent skill and enthusiasm for the machine gun.
