To all in S1: It’s hard to find the right words to say goodbye, but I want to start by telling you how much I’ve cherished being your squad leader since the day of the merge. You’ve consistently surpassed every expectation I had, showing dedication, resilience, and heart in every drill, every battle. I’ve been incredibly proud to call myself your leader. Even though we may not have always had the largest numbers, that never stopped us. Our teamwork, determination, and fierce spirit won us more victories than anyone could have imagined. We fought like a unit much larger than we were, and every time we stood together, I knew we were unstoppable. You’ve proven time and time again that the strength of a squad isn’t in its size but in its unity. There’s truly no other squad I could ever imagine being part of. S1 has been, and always will be, my home. The bonds we’ve built here are unbreakable, and that’s why this goodbye feels so difficult. But this isn’t a permanent farewell. After my break, I’ll be back to haunt you, because you can’t never get rid of your Cpl. Pinto. I’ll miss you all during my time away, but I’ll carry the memories, the lessons, and the pride I feel for each of you with me. Until we meet again, fight hard, stay strong, and remember that S1 always stands together. Per Aspera. Ad Gloriam

Always sad seeing veterans leaving! But if break is needed, then it means it is needed. Stay positive as you always were. Ever since the first day we crossed paths! Good luck Cpl. Pinto! Good luck my friend!

As sad as it is to see you go, there is no one in the 29th I can see being more deserving of a break. Thank you for your long service to the 29th Cpl. and more importantly thank you for being my first ever squad leader I can not imagine my first year within the 29th without you. Soar high Cpl. and thank you for having faith in this quiet grenadier.

Have a good break man! As a person who left and came back myself, it’s kinda of a strange feeling to come back and see what has changed (be very interested to see what you notice). I will always appreciate that you were so welcoming and supportive when I came back to the 29th as a member of the OG S2. That squad was something special for a number of reasons, and I now could not imagine coming back to any squad but that version of S2. Enjoy your break, looking forward to when you come back, and keep in touch yeah?

Good luck on your break. Thank you for being a very welcoming first SL. Enjoy your break and see you soon!
