Cpl. Greene has been side by side with me almost for our entire time in the 29th together. He was in one of the first BCTs to occur within Easy Company and we were both little shy privates in EP2S1 together learning the ways of the 29th. Cpl. Greene has been with EP2S1 for so long now the squad has a permanent indent where Cpl. Greene has sat. Much like an overused couch, there is no recovering from this indent. Cpl. Greene was my ASL for my entire duration as an SL and his calming reassuring nature made squad leading enjoyable and little less stressful, but it wasn’t until I left EP2S1 and gave the squad over to him that the real shimmering diamond quality of Cpl. Greene has come to light. He has been a great squad leader, often taking up opportunities to prove his leadership qualities on and off the battlefield. An excellent example of what we like to see in 29th and a great NCO. With his recent efforts to create greater comradery within the platoon and a regular voice to be seen and heard I think it has come time to make the rank match the character. Congratulations Sgt. Greene!
