Rate What The Person Above You Is Listening To

6/10 - Basically rock with some 80s synth pads in the background. Fun (probably even more so in the context of the game), but nothing extraordinary. The chorus didn’t really hook me.

The Doobie Brothers - “Eyes of Silver”

8.8/10 - Another fantastic song from the Doobies. Particularly fond of the guitar riff in this song, feels like I should be rolling down the road on a motorcycle.

The Reverend Horton Heat - “Bales of Cocaine”

Cool song idea - bales of cocaine sounds like a good way to make a lot of cold hard cash - if you can evade the DEA.

One of my tunes - lofi hiphop I made after viewing a bunch of old 80s documentaries - QED ‘A Guide To Armageddon’ and ‘Threads’.

8/10 - very cool and interesting tune. i like the dark kind of undertone it has.

now my favorite R&B-rap-soul mashup JID - “Kody Blu 31”

8/10 - good vibes with the R&B-soul mix. It reminds me of this song:

Cody Chesnutt - 5 On A Joyride

Soul/R&B/Bluegrass i love all of it and Cody is a great 2000’s artist that hits the vibe.
I did indeed forget to rate. 6/10

Heres my go to slower Karaoke song right now Lovin' In My Baby's Eyes - YouTube

Since PFC Harrington forgot the rating:
3/10 - sounds like a demo to me and his vocal performance here doesn’t do it for me. His intonation is frankly poor (by that I mean he needs to work on his pitch).

4/10 - I could imagine it being fun at karaoke, but not a song I would listen to it. It’s alright, but replaceable.

I don’t remember if this was posted before or not, but anyhow:

Billy Joel - “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant”

(Don’t get fooled by the slow beginning, it’s a banger, and I would argue his best song.)

5/10 - As much as Billy Joel is a staple musician, I personally do not enjoy his music. I will however say that the music he does create is musically complex and fascinating, but not my personal choice.

Something more my preference, and a little more niche (plus a cute dog on the album cover)

Smithy’s Anime Intro - Victor Tostada Jr.

10/10 for the Dog. The song is a 7/10, I get Men at Work vibes from the song.

Here’s my favorite song of all time.

7/10, I always like listening to some good country music to relax.

Devin Townsend Project - Kingdom

7/10 - Talented guy.

Megara - “Arcadia”

(It’s a song competing in Spain’s Benidorm Fest - their national selection for Eurovision.)

6/10 heard worse, not my vibe

The Outfield - Your Love

8/10 - still a good rhythm, still good lyrics.

Heilung - Norupo

5/10 - Not sure I’m the audience for this song, but the costumes were freaking amazing, not to mention some great aerial camera shots.

Wind Rose - Drunken Dwarves

9/10 pirate metal is so hard to do right. I love me some themed metal, big fan of Oh Sleeper. This is the best Pirate Metal I have heard to date.

I’ll continue the pirate trend with a local band. For those of you that don’t know my background, I did music venue security for a couple years. The potato Pirates to this date are the only show I’ve done where I’ve lost complete control of the crowd. We’re talking smoking joints in the pit, thrown chairs, broken bottles. Massive mosh pits, fans jumping on stage, and a lot of general pirate themed tomfoolery.

I’ve never had more fun at a show in my life.

3/10 I haven’t posted here before so I’m not sure if it’s rude to rate something this low. I hadn’t heard of pirate metal before so I was excited to see what it was all about with thoughts of sea shanty feelings. Well, this clearly isn’t my style. I can see how for the target audience and proper setting this could be a fun, high energy song, but it just feels like a drinking song that doesn’t do much. I saw the length and thought there might be a guitar solo to redeem if, but when it arrived, it seemed like a break for people to go grab another drink .

Here’s a song from my favorite band. It’s hard to choose out of their more recent stuff so I decided to go with the title track off of their most recent album.

Alter Bridge - Pawns & Kings

9/10 can’t go wrong with some Alter Bridge, Myles Kennedy has a crazy unique sound. Honestly, I don’t listen to these guys nearly as much as they deserve and now I gotta go binge them a bit lol

I’ve been on a metalcore kick recently, so here’s one that’s fresh in my mind.

Wild Eyes - Parkway Drive

6/10 - Not sold on the vocal style, but seems like a decent composition.

I’m not the biggest metal guy to begin with, but here’s a Danish hard rock/heavy metal artist I recently discovered, and I like this song a lot:

Nicklas Sonne - “Misery”

8/10 Classic A7X vibe, reminds me of the glory times before Jimmy passed.

Switching the genre with some rap,
I love FACE, i know he isnt very popular among the people i know that like him but i believe the harshness of the obstacles he has overcome has given his music a certain “fuck the system” counterculture vibe that rarely gets hit correctly.
