SSgt. Lord is our venerable member of leadership within DP3. He’s been through the thick and thin of the unit, and I can say with certainty that without his leadership DP3 would look very different from today. When I was in squad leadership, I can personally attest to that when SSgt. Lord took the reins as our at-the-time Warrant Officer and Platoon Leader, moral drastically improved for the better. This was reflected in our platoons attendance statistic, which for over 8 months maintained an average attendance rate of 90% or higher for 30, 60, and 90 days. There are highs and there are lows within every squad’s and platoon’s lifetime, but I can confidently attribute this time period as one of the golden age of DP3.
